New ANSI – Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Course Offered for 2016

In keeping with the ever changing requirements for professional formal training for workers and supervisors NCEHSE is offering a new H2S Hydrogen Sulfide Worker Awareness / Refresher course for 2016. Unlike substandard 4-hour courses that basically teach workers to run when smell H2S, this full day course helps the worker understand the dangers, signs, symptoms, and mitigation measures they need to take to protect themselves and co-workers while working in and around an H2S environment. OSHA Training Classes for November and December

The National Center for EHS Education (NCEHSEDU) at ENMU-Roswell will be offering the following classes in November and December for businesses in and around Roswell, Artesia, Carlsbad, Hobbs and the Midland, Odessa area. November 12 and 13:
OSHA 10 Hour for Construction
ENMUR/NCEHSE RATE…$295 pp
This class is taught by Michael O’Berry and will encompass the requirements found in 29CFR1026 for OSHA outreach classes. Topics will include electrical, falls, caught in, / in-between, as well as arc flash, ppe, the updated confined space, and tool usage among others. Students will receive an OSHA 10 for construction card upon successful completion. This is a difficult class to find and anyone engaged in construction will find it essential in building a safe workplace at their company.
Class runs from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day.

December 2-4:
Fall Protection Competent Person
ENMUR/NCEHSE RATE…$399 pp
Course covers the requirements found in both USACE, ANSI, 29CFR 1910, and 1926, (General Industry and Construction) for fall protection training. Training involves identifying potential fall hazards at jobsites, selecting the right equipment for anchorage points and personal fall arrest system inspection criteria. Program management, regulatory requirements of a Competent Person and multi-employer duties are also addressed.
Class runs from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day.

December 9 – 11:
Record Keeping Essentials Class
ENMUR/NCEHSE RATE…$345 pp
This the combination of all three classes listed below. If you take all three together you save $100 when compared to taking them individually.

December 9:
OSHA 29CFR1904 Record Keeping (1-day class)
ENMUR/NCEHSE RATE…$125 pp
Over-reporting and mis-reporting of accidents and injuries cost companies millions of dollars annually. Not knowing how to properly report can affect insurance premiums and prevent companies from bidding on larger contracts. This course goes through the OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1904 and offers explanations and insight into who, what, when, and how of OSHA recordkeeping. Class will also cover the basics of developing training records that can lower the number of incidents at a company and boost employee involvement. If you are not familiar with OSHA’s Multi-Employer’s Worksite Policy, then you need to take this class before you let another subcontractor come onto your site.
Class runs from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day.

December 10:
(JSA/JHA) Job Safety Analysis Development Training (1 day class)
ENMUR/NCEHSE RATE…$195 pp
The Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) are the cornerstone of any quality safety program. Not only are they required by OSHA for just about every task, employers must certify that they have been done prior to starting work. Unfortunately, many companies do not know how to do one or they may have been taught incorrectly. This class covers the requirements for training and how OSHA suggest JSA’s and JHA’s should be done.
Class runs from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day.

December 11:
Developing Defendable Training Records (1 day class)
ENMUR/NCEHSE Rate …$125
Creating, developing, and utilizing training records that can show the status of any employee at a moment’s notice is the goal of any effective safety program. What it takes to accomplish this has been well developed for the past 30 years but is known to only a few. This course follows the 3 tier approach to identifying, instructing, and evaluating the competency of employees on any job or task. Students will study just how easy it is to develop and maintain this management tool through hands on workshops, examples, and research. Regulations governing the accountability of training documentation is also covered in this essential course designed for all companies.
